The Guns Of Navarone

I am reading old war series of Alistair MacLean. The Guns Of Navarone, H.M.S.Ulysses, South By Java Head, and going on Bear Island and Fear Is The Key. Honestly speaking they are just like black-and-white movie that I had watched.

MacLean was an US navy and captured by Japanese army in WWII. His novels were based on the experience so that his description for battle was very real and powerful.

In the novel. He metaphorically used to say “ she is just like in the summer resort at Bournemouth !” in emergent situation. Bournemouth ! I like there as it is my first town to have visited overseas.
